EPS program is currently implementing, together with Action Now Kenya a "Kibera Micro-Enterprise Support to HIV/Aids Clients". IN this project ANK has received support from EU to pilot and expand a HIV/Aids support programme aimed at providing innovative financial services to HIV/Aids affected households with the aim of providing a steady flow of incomes to such households in order to cope with financial demand for maintaining and HIV/Aids patient.
In this project EPS program was responsible for supporting ANK in designing and developing the micro-enterprise concept, building capacity of ANK and undertaking training of community extension officer of ANK. EPS also undertook training of some of the beneficiaries of the project on how to start and establish small businesses that are able to sustain themselves and their families as a strategy for sustainable livelihoods during illness.
